Join Spike and Kage as they tromp the mountains of Washington State.
Spike and Kage are American Pika that travel with me as I hike. Spike has spikey hair. Kage ("shadow" in Japanese) has a round snout. See them here!
Pronunciation: Kage is two syllables, "kah-gee", pronounced with a hard-g (like fogey/bogey/geyser). Pika comes from the archaic 'pica' and was transcribed as "peeka" by the zoologist Pallas. The word "pike-uh", by contrast, refers to the medical condition of eating strange things, which pikae do not.
20240713: Added selectors for various types of 3D images.
20190811: Added a better viewer so large images aren't too large on pheuns; you can still zoom in for full details. Experimental, might be disabled or changed.
20170204: Having discovered that Dropbox and Google Drive no longer support public hosting (URLs) for content, it seemed most appropriate to quickly share these photos here.
